Premium Transmitters

High power in a tiny package, built to last.

StanislavThe lightweight, high power Marshall Radio transmitters have evolved both inside and out for two decades now. You'll find Marshall transmitters to be carefully thought out and meticulously designed from every angle.

On the outside, the intricately machined, laser-engraved casings reflect our constant attention to detail and finish. Machining the unibody cases from the toughest aircraft aluminum alloys is costly but gives the most precise way to achieve the tight tolerances we're after and provides the best protection for what's inside.

On the inside, all transmitter designs incorporate our new, extremely efficient and rock-solid circuitry. You can count on temperature stable operation, a high-shock design with an even more powerful yet stable signal in a transmitter that will last season after season. All other features matter very little without reliability first and foremost.

But what a list of unique features these reliable transmitters do have: the convenient and popular Tap-on/Tap-off magnetic control switch, a real-time low-battery indicator and fuel gauge, and extreme low temperature performance when battery voltage can drop down to a trickle that would kill other transmitters.

It's no longer necessary to put your bird at risk using the long 13-inch antennas of the past. Marshall transmitters, whether ordered in standard 216 or 218 MHz frequencies, are shipped with short and safe 7 or 9-inch antennas.

The designs detailed below each have a different intended use. The Transmitters at a Glance table found at the bottom of the page highlights the specifications and comparisons for each. Three models are offered on the powerful UHF band, the Scout, RT, and Micro transmitter are now availalbe on 433/434 MHz. The new RT 433 will give you better range than any other 433 band falcon transmitter available in Europe. And the 433 Micro out performs any transmitter of its kind (including the 216 Micro) by a wide margin.

All products may be ordered online (and will be sent from our Marshall Direct office in the UK) or you may contact one of our local Authorized Marshall stocking distributors.

How and where to attach a radio transmitter to a hunting bird are two key decisions that every falconer needs to carefully make.

The Mounting Methods used for attaching transmitters to birds have evolved for many years, and they are constantly improving as we all gain experience and discover new materials.

This summary outlines in one place the advantages and disadvantages, together with the opinions of falconers, about each of the four mounting methods currently in use worldwide.

Click on the tabs to jump to the method you're now using or interested in, and review the discussion of that method. A Photo Gallery is also included to help you decide what you prefer as you see birds in flight with Marshall transmitters using each of the four mounting methods.

thumb_thescoutThe Scout transmitter is designed for use with the larger hawks, such as Redtails, Goshawks and Harris' Hawks when used as a leg or tail mount. It can also be used on smaller birds when used with a TrackPack.

Key features are the low price and long battery life:

  • Runs forty days on a single battery
  • Forty miles line-of-sight range
  • Weighs just 9 grams with battery
  • Uses a short 7-inch antenna
  • Can be ordered with Mag switch
  • The lowest cost transmitter

The Scout UHF version is ideal for use with the larger hawks, such as Redtails, Goshawks and Harris' Hawks. However, when mounted on a TrackPack it can be used by birds as small as a tiercel peregrine.

    • Runs 12 days on a single battery
    • Four times the power output of the regular Scout
    • Still weighs only 9 grams
    • Uses a short 7-inch antenna
    • Sixty miles line-of-sight range
    • Frequencies: 433, 434
    • Comes with Mag switch included
    • 2032 lithium coin cell battery widely available everywhere
    • Comes in Military Green
      Leg: €180.00

thumb_rtplus_logoThe RT Plus is designed around the reliable 1/3N lithium battery which gives it it's unique shape and size. With its longer battery life and powerful signal, it was developed to be a primary leg mount for larger shortwings and longwings (18oz birds and up). The RT+ was the first of a new generation of transmitters with a short, safe, half-length antenna, yet still puts out more power than others still using long ones. It is also ideal as a secondary (backup) transmitter to the PowerMax tail mount. Features are now found in the RT+ never before available in a falconry transmitter.

Each unit is burned-in and Enviro-tested tested from +150F down to -40F prior to shipping. Thousands of this newest design are now in the field worldwide with enthusiastic and reliable results.

      Available frequencies: 173, 216, 218 MHz

      Leg: €185.00

thumb_Micro-logoThis tiny transmitter is the Ideal Tail Mount. It weighs only 3.5 grams with the battery yet is a medium range design putting 1/3 the weight on a single tail feather.

Unlike other transmitters using very small batteries, the new Micro doesn't fade out or die in low temperature situations.

It is perfect for small specialty birds: Merlins, sharp-shinned hawks and other extremely small raptors. You can order it with a 'fine' or a 'medium' gauge antenna, depending on intended use.

The Micro also contains the magnetic Tap on/Tap off switch, a half-length 7-inch antenna with improved power and efficiency. Each unit is burned in for five days and Enviro-tested tested from +150F down to -40F prior to shipping.

      Available frequencies: 173, 216, 218 and now 433 MHz.

thumb_PowerMax_logoThe PowerMax is the ideal transmitter for the backpack mounting method using the TrackPack. Its exceptional power output makes it the right choice as a primary transmitter while the flat coin-shaped case keeps a very low profile on the back. Mounted up higher on the bird, the nine-inch long antenna does not extend past the tail. Furthermore, it's been designed to be easily left on at all times and easily turned on or off with the tap of a magnet for daily use.

The PowerMax incorporates a low-battery indicator, you might think of as a fuel guage, that uses both a timer and internal voltage sensor to warn you in advance when it's time to change the battery. Accumulated run-time is approximately 60 hours with another five days left to search after the double-beep.

Combining a Powermax as your primary transmitter, with a small Micro transmitter on the tail as the backup, provides you with two dorsal mounts that are up high, flat and aerodynamic, and out of the way. It takes a matter of seconds to Tap both transmitters on with the Mag Switches and be ready to fly.

Each unit is burned-in, tested for power and Enviro-tested tested from +150F down to -40F prior to shipping.

      Available frequencies: 173, 216, 218.

RT_logoThe new RT UHF now offers a choice in the higher bands (433-434) commonly used throughout Europe for falconry. Although it can be used with an existing tracking receiver on these bands, you will get the best results with a Marshall Radio 433 receiver, now available as well.

Built around the reliable 1/3N lithium battery, the RT is the ideal shape and size for leg mounting. With the new bullet lid and tailspring added, it becomes a great TrackPack mount. And with hundreds now already in use, the RT is proving to be the ideal longest range transmitter for falconers using the UHF bands.
