The training transmitter can come as tail only option, a leg and tail mount option, or an EZ Twist and tail mount option. The tail spring is very simple to remove to convert to a leg mount. You can view our different mounting methods under products – mounting methods in the menu. *EZ Twist style does not come with a receptacle piece (needs to be purchased separately).
The GPS transmitters range and signal rely on the antenna. If the antenna is kinked and or has exposed wire, it is time to replace the antenna as it can reduce or diminish your range and signal.
For Macaws, we have the “updated” version that comes with a metallic antenna protector and a thicker antenna that can withstand bites longer. For smaller parrot species, we have the regular version that comes with the non-metal antenna protector and regular antenna. We highly recommend the updated version for Macaws and other large parrot species, as well as for parrots that tend to bite on objects often.
Ultimately, the goal with the training transmitter is to try different mounts to see what works best for your bird, as well as train them to ignore the transmitter once installed.
