A straight antenna is important to the process of producing a strong signal. If your antennas are kinked, curled and have been straightened out for the last time, you might consider getting a new one to maintain peak performance. Field replaceable antennas screw directly on to the transmitter antenna stud.
Heavy option available for GPS transmitters (thicker antenna preferable for Macaws)
In the video below are directions for replacing an antenna on transmitters with heat shrink. Micro transmitters for the beeping system require the heat shrink. GPS transmitters do not require heat shrink, instead they use antenna protectors.
