In the video below are directions for replacing an antenna on transmitters with heat shrink. If your transmitter has an antenna protector on it you will not need to apply heat shrink.

A straight antenna is important to the process of producing a strong signal. If your antennas are kinked, curled and have been straightened out for the last time, you might consider getting a new one to maintain peak performance. Field replaceable antennas screw directly on to the transmitter antenna stud.
Available in regular or heavy gauge.
Specify in notes for Heavy and Eagle antennas what transmitter you are purchasing for.
